On April 17, 2019, Alla Pugacheva returned to the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow for “P.S.,” a solo anniversary concert built around her seventieth birthday.

The palace’s official event page advertised the performance for 7:00 p.m. in its main hall and described it as an exception to Pugacheva’s limited stage appearances of the preceding years.

That framing made the evening more than a birthday gala, because it placed a singer whose career had stretched from Soviet radio and festival stages into post-Soviet mass culture before a major public audience again.

Her 2009–2010 farewell tour had publicly framed an end to regular touring, so the full solo program carried the weight of a return without implying that it began a new tour.

The title “P.S.” suggested a postscript, yet the production treated the retrospective form as a chance to reassess rather than merely repeat her repertory.

Contemporary reporting in Kommersant recorded that every ticket had been sold well before the concert and that resale prices had climbed far beyond the official range.

The demand demonstrated how thoroughly Pugacheva’s public meaning exceeded any single song, period, or audience generation.

By the end of 2019, Kommersant reported that a ticket-marketplace ranking had identified the performance as the year’s most popular concert in Russia, based on search interest, social-media discussion, and venue capacity.

That later measure does not settle artistic value, but it documents the scale of attention generated by a one-night return from an artist who had largely withdrawn from solo concert life.

The State Kremlin Palace gives the event a precise public setting within the Moscow Kremlin, a building long associated with state ceremony as well as ballet, popular music, and national cultural spectacle.
