Biography | Adena Friedman — The Treasury Symposium Where She Sat as Carlyle's Finance Chief

By July 2011 the Nasdaq intern had left the exchange.

She was Carlyle's chief financial officer and a managing director.

On 12 July 2011 the U.S. Department of the Treasury convened a Women in Finance Symposium in Washington.

A Treasury camera recorded Friedman in that room.

The still later entered Wikimedia Commons as a federal work.

She had joined Carlyle earlier that year after a Nasdaq run that included data products, corporate strategy, and the chief financial officer title.

At Nasdaq she had worked the acquisitions of INET, OMX, the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, and the Boston Stock Exchange.

Carlyle took her through the firm's 2012 public listing.

She stayed until 2014.

The Treasury Building at 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue is the public face of that July session.

It is not a private office and not a home.

In May 2014 she went back to Nasdaq as president of the global corporate and information-technology businesses.

The dated public record of the Carlyle chapter is that symposium still, now held on Commons.
