Biography | Arvind Krishna — The Doctorate Finished While ECE Still Sat in Everitt Lab

People look for his American formation in the net-zero ECE Building that opened in 2014.

The department that granted the degree still sat in Everitt Laboratory.

After the Kanpur bachelor's, Krishna took a Master of Science in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1987.

He completed the Ph.D. in the same department in 1991.

Illinois ECE then occupied Everitt Laboratory, a 1949 engineering building on Wright Street, beside Talbot Lab and the old engineering quad.

The present Electrical and Computer Engineering Building at 306 North Wright Street was dedicated only on 10 October 2014.

By that date he had already been an IBM researcher for more than two decades.

The Illinois record is consistent across the Grainger College distinguished-alumni page and the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering biography: M.S. 1987, Ph.D. 1991.

In 2007 the department gave him its Distinguished Alumni Award.

The pin is Everitt Laboratory as it stood in his student years.

The facade has been rebuilt for bioengineering; the address has not jumped.
