Biography|Dinesh Paliwal — The Headquarters Opened on This Stamford Floor

Paliwal did not keep the chief executive's office on Pennsylvania Avenue.

He planted a corporate presence in Stamford in July 2007, the month he arrived, and spent the next year pulling Washington and Northridge staff onto one floor.

On 6 November 2008 Harman announced the official opening of the new headquarters at 400 Atlantic Street, Stamford, Connecticut.

About fifty employees would work from one floor of the downtown tower, forty-five minutes from New York.

The old pattern had been three corporate pockets: Washington, Northridge in the San Fernando Valley, and the small Stamford outpost he had already opened.

Sidney Harman kept an office in Washington. The Northridge campus kept its manufacturing and some administration.

The new address was public: Harman International Industries Inc., 400 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT 06901.

The tower is a 1980 office block on the walk from the Metro-North station.

It is not a campus. It is a leased floor with a product showcase of fifty years of Harman brands.

From this floor he ran the company through the failed KKR deal's aftermath, the rebuild of the automotive infotainment book, and the years that made Harman a listed target again.

The building still stands on Atlantic Street. Harman still lists the address.

What changed is who owned the name on the directory.
