Biography|Massimo Calvelli — The Palliser Road Office Where He Took the ATP Chair
kevin
On 11 December 2019 the ATP named Massimo Calvelli as chief executive officer, effective 1 January 2020.
The announcement was a press release, not a ceremony.
The work itself started in the association's London office.
At the time that office was listed as Palliser House, Palliser Road, in Barons Court, west London.
A later ATP page moved the London desk to 22 Worple Road in Wimbledon.
This pin stays on Palliser Road because that is the address the tour published while he took the chair.
Calvelli arrived from Nike, where he had run global tennis sports marketing.
Before Nike he had been global business director at Wilson Sporting Goods.
The 2019 ATP release said the board's choice was unanimous.
He would work alongside Andrea Gaudenzi, who became chairman on the same New Year's Day.
The brief was the unglamorous half of men's tennis: operations, commercial contracts, the calendar, and the years when tournaments could not be staged at all.
He held the job until June 2025.
In that stretch the tour signed a headline partnership with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and kept the circuit running through the pandemic years.
Those deals have their own critics and their own ledgers.
They are not this pin.
This pin is the London street where a former world No. 255 from Montevarchi sat down as CEO of the body that once ranked him.
He left for RedBird Capital and, in 2026, for the chief executive chair at AC Milan.
The office on Palliser Road is an ordinary terrace block near Barons Court station.
Nothing on the facade says tennis.
That is the point.
