The mountain hospital is not in Gangwon. The water beside it is a 1925 farm reservoir in northern Gyeonggi.
Sanjeong Lake sits at 104 Sanjeonghosu-ro 411beon-gil, Yeongbuk-myeon, Pocheon, under Myeongseongsan. The drama places Doldam in a Gangwon valley. The lake is a three-kilometre loop of path, sled slopes in winter, and a well that was dug for rice.
You can walk the circuit. You cannot walk into Gangwon from the hotel car park. The production needed a lake that read as isolation. Pocheon already had one an hour from Seoul.
The reservoir is still a reservoir. The province on the caption is not the province on the map.
