GTO (1998) | Former Jissen Women’s Junior College Shinmei Campus — Musashino Seirin Gakuen

Fuji TV/Kansai TV’s 1998 live-action GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) used Jissen Women’s Junior College in Hino as the recurring location for the fictional 武蔵野聖林学苑 (Musashino Seirin Gakuen), where Eikichi Onizuka and Azusa Fuyutsuki teach. Contemporary filming-location records identify the Shinmei campus as the school and note that the buildings used by the production were demolished in 2014.

The place is still traceable even though the television school is gone. Jissen Women’s University records the former junior-college campus in Hino’s Shinmei district, and part of the former Shinmei campus site is now used by Hino City’s Child Comprehensive Support Center “Miraiku” at Shinmei 1-13-2, opened in 2024.

Pilgrimage note: this is a changed-site memory, not a preserved set. Do not expect the 1998 school buildings to survive. The current facilities serve children, families and municipal services, so visit respectfully and treat the location primarily as an exterior historical anchor.
