People treat Take-Two as the West 44th Street holding company that always published Grand Theft Auto, NBA 2K, and a Zynga mobile board from a Nasdaq-100 book.
The first book was a 21-year-old publisher leaving illustrated paper for disks.
On 30 September 1993 Ryan Brant and Mark E. Seremet incorporated Take-Two Interactive Software in Delaware.
Brant had just left Stewart, Tabori and Chang, his father's illustrated-book house.
Seremet came from Paragon Software.
Family and private backers put up 1.5 million dollars.
An early New York floor sat at 575 Broadway, sixth floor, in SoHo.
A PlayStation licence arrived in 1995.
Acclaim agreed to distribute the catalogue in 1996.
Rockstar Games and later 2K turned the holding company into labels rather than a single studio brand.
Strauss Zelnick took the public chair years after the Broadway rooms.
The present address is 110 West 44th Street.
The first product line was not a stolen car in Liberty City.
It was a young capital raise on a SoHo floor that still faces Broadway.
