Biography | Anne Rigail — The Hôtel de Vendôme Where a Mines Promotion Learned to Run Machines
kevin
People treat an airline chief as someone who arrived from a bank or a ministry.
Anne Rigail arrived from an engineering school on the Luxembourg Garden.
She was born in Metz on 8 March 1969 and later studied in Clermont-Ferrand and in Lyon.
In 1988 she entered the École nationale supérieure des mines de Paris. Every later company biography still names that promotion and almost nothing else from the student years.
The school occupies the Hôtel de Vendôme at 60 boulevard Saint-Michel.
Jean-Baptiste Alexandre Le Blond built the hôtel in 1707 for a Carthusian canon. The mining school has worked behind the same front since 1815.
The rear façade looks into the garden. The street door opens onto the boulevard at the corner of rue Auguste-Comte.
Libération later recorded the diploma year as 1991.
The official Air France page still calls the school Mines Paris Tech and lists no second diploma.
That is the whole formation story the company is willing to print.
The curriculum mixed engineering with the management of large technical systems.
An airline is one of those systems: gates, bags, crews, slots, weather, and a clock that does not wait.
From this courtyard she went into Air Inter the same year she left the school.
The building is a listed monument. The school still teaches in it.
A visitor can stand on the pavement and see the door. The classrooms are not a public museum, but the façade is the right pin for the years that made the later titles possible.
