Biography | Florian Huettl — The Dual-Study Campus Behind the Former Gronau Station

People treat an Opel chief as someone who arrives from a factory floor or an engineering school.

Huettl arrived from a private business campus on the site of the old Gronau station in Bergisch Gladbach.

The Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft still lists its Bergisch Gladbach house at Hauptstraße 2, a few kilometres east of Cologne.

Munzinger places his birth in Aschaffenburg in 1977.

Published day-dates disagree, so this pin does not pretend to settle a birthday.

What is stable is the school.

After the Abitur he took a dual-style bachelor in International Business Management on this campus.

FHDW's own pages still describe lecture rooms and a hall of residence spread through the former station ground.

The degree is the one every later official biography repeats: Stellantis, Opel Ireland, and the company press kit all name Bergisch Gladbach.

He left the campus into Renault in October 2000.

That date is the clean edge between formation and work.

The school did not make him an engineer.

It taught him the commercial side of a car company — product, territory, forecast — before he ever sat in Rüsselsheim.

A visitor today finds a working campus, not a museum.

The station buildings were reused, not frozen.

Stand on Hauptstraße and the story is small and specific: a Franconian-born student finished a business degree here, then took the first Renault desk in England.
