Biography | Kenichiro Yoshida — The Mothers Listing He Took Public on Kabutocho
kevin
People treat Sony's internet chapter as a later content bet.
The first company he ran as president went public on this exchange.
In April 2005 Kenichiro Yoshida became president and representative director of Sony Communication Network, the So-net internet unit then still using that legal name.
On 20 December 2005 the firm listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market as code 3789.
The building at 2-1 Nihonbashi-Kabutocho is the granite hall completed in stages through 1988, the same address the exchange has occupied since 1878.
Mothers was the startup board.
The offer price was 340,000 yen a share.
The first print was 492,000 yen, 44.7 percent above the offer.
The stock closed limit-up at 542,000 yen.
Turnover that day was 62,639 shares.
Closing market value sat near 138.5 billion yen.
Sony and a finance subsidiary sold stock alongside a small new issue.
After the sale the parent group still held about 64.8 percent.
The listing replaced an earlier Sony tracking stock that had never found a real following and had been delisted in November.
So-net later moved to the First Section, in January 2008, and Sony took the company private again in 2013.
Yoshida returned to the parent that December as chief strategy officer and deputy chief financial officer.
The pin is the exchange, not a vanished So-net office.

The internet unit's later Osaki headquarters is a different address and a different year.
This date is the day the subsidiary he ran became a public company.
