Crash Landing on You | Lake Lungern — The Shore After the Credits

Lake Lungern sits in a high basin in Obwalden, a short climb from the Brünig Pass, and looks nothing like a finale until you already know the last episode.

The water is drinkable. The village of Lungern holds the eastern shore. Farmhouses step up the opposite slope in the same scattered pattern the camera used for the quiet after the plot had finished shouting.

This is where Crash Landing on You lets Se-ri and Jeong-hyeok look at each other without a border in the way. The lunch by the water, the last walk, the sense that the story has stepped out of North and South and into a lake that does not take sides.

A sign in the area now names the drama. Tour buses pause. Then they leave, and the lake goes back to being a reservoir lowered in the 1830s by a drainage tunnel, with a church tower and a few boats.

Stand at the water and the mountains close the basin on three sides. There is no spectacle left to perform. That is the point of putting the ending here. After a series built on fences and uniforms, the last image is an open shore.

If you come from Iseltwald and Sigriswil on the same day, Lungern will feel smaller. Stay until the motorboats stop. The green of the lake holds the light later than the road does.
