Esports | Call of Duty: Mobile | Tribe Gaming — The 4-3 World Final at Raleigh Convention Center

On Sunday, December 18, 2022, Tribe Gaming and Luminosity Gaming met on the Call of Duty: Mobile stage inside Raleigh Convention Center. The Grand Final closed Stage 5 of Activision’s publisher-run World Championship 2022, the first edition to bring all qualified regions into one in-person world final after the 2020 final was cancelled and the 2021 championship was divided into East and West events.

Luminosity reached the match through the upper bracket and began with the format’s one-map advantage. The official 4–3 series score therefore represents six maps played plus that awarded point: Tribe, arriving from the lower bracket, had to win four maps in play, while Luminosity needed three.

The title here was Call of Duty: Mobile, not the console-and-PC Call of Duty League competition also taking place in Raleigh that weekend. The finalists used the global mobile game during the Season 10: World Class production window; Activision launched that season on November 9, and the corresponding public Android release was version 1.0.35, while the surviving event record does not identify each competitor’s handset or operating system.

Five players competed for each side at a time, and Tribe’s registered six-player roster was BoLu, Marshy, Slothy, Tectonic, Vague, and Jezz. Matches rotated among Hardpoint, where teams accumulate time on a moving objective; Search and Destroy, a round-based one-life attack-and-defense mode; and Control, where attackers and defenders contest fixed zones under limited lives.

Tribe had already lost 2–3 to Wolves in the upper-bracket quarterfinal, then moved through the elimination side by sweeping STMN Esports and Smart Omega, beating Wolves 3–1 in the rematch, and sweeping iNCO Gaming in the lower final. Its 4–3 victory over Luminosity completed that route and awarded Tribe $700,000 from the event’s $1.7 million Finals prize pool.

The Raleigh venue is essential to the claim: contemporary local reporting identifies the downtown convention center as the site where the mobile championship concluded, not merely the advertised host city or an organizer office. The building still stands at 500 South Salisbury Street and is now branded Atlantic Union Bank Convention Center; the cover photograph shows its exterior eleven years before the match.
