Esports | Free Fire | Corinthians — The 2,300-Point Final at Arena Carioca 1

On November 16, 2019, twelve regional representatives met inside Arena Carioca 1 at Rio de Janeiro’s Barra Olympic Park for the Free Fire World Series 2019 Rio. Garena ran the one-day, publisher-run world final, which was a separate event from the Free Fire World Cup held in Bangkok that April.

Corinthians entered with Carlos “Fixa,” Genildo “Japa,” Samuel “Level Up 007,” Bruno “Nobru,” and Douglas “Pires,” plus coach Luciano “CHEFEXL.” Their opposition included Russian qualifier Sbornaya ChR, Thailand’s Illuminate Slow TwoK, fellow Brazilian side LOUD, and eight other regional champions.

The competition used the global Garena Free Fire mobile client available for iOS and Android, in the OB18 production window that began with the October 16 update. No source identifies an event-only build or the handset assigned to any competitor, so neither is inferred here.

Across eight rounds on Bermuda and Purgatory, four-player squads parachuted into a shrinking battle-royale map, gathered equipment, and tried to survive while eliminating opponents. A team’s running total combined placement points—up to 300 for winning a round, called a Booyah—with 20 points for each kill; the highest cumulative score after all eight rounds decided the title.

Corinthians remained behind Sbornaya ChR after the seventh round. The Brazilian team overturned that deficit in the last round and finished with 2,300 points, 110 ahead of Sbornaya’s 2,190, while Illuminate placed third with 2,020.

The victory made Corinthians the first Free Fire World Series champion and earned the team the $200,000 first prize from a $400,000 pool. That scope matters: Garena had staged April’s differently named World Cup, while the World Series lineage began with this Rio edition.

Contemporary ticket coverage locates the event specifically in Arena Carioca 1 rather than merely in Rio or the wider Olympic Park, and Corinthians’ own post-event account names the same arena, date, score, and title. The pin marks the arena building itself, not an organizer office, hotel, or later Free Fire venue.
