People treat Cardinal Health as a Dublin, Ohio wholesaler that always printed CAH on the Big Board.
The 1983 issuer listed on Nasdaq. The company's 2021 anniversary timeline said that first Nasdaq line printed at 1.03 dollars a share.
By 2009 the name was on the New York Stock Exchange.
On 31 August 2009 Cardinal distributed 0.5 CareFusion share for each Cardinal share of record on 25 August, about 180 million CareFusion shares, and kept about 41 million.
CareFusion opened regular-way trading on the New York Stock Exchange on 1 September 2009 under CFN and entered the S&P 500 the same morning.
The mechanism is a split of a listed wholesaler's clinical-products book into a second Big Board line, not a cash offering.
Cardinal holders received the new paper. They did not subscribe.
The pin is the Broad Street facade of the Exchange, where CAH already printed and where CFN opened. Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
