Pinocchio | YTN Newsquare, Sangam — The News Building Borrowed for MSC

Sangamsan-ro 76 is a working news headquarters, not a backlot. YTN moved into this eighteen-storey block in Digital Media City in 2014, the same year Pinocchio went to air. The production, an SBS drama, used a rival news building as the face of MSC, the fictional station where Choi In-ha's Pinocchio syndrome and Choi Dal-po's buried name had to survive a live desk.

That loan still startles people who know Korean broadcasting. You cannot walk the newsroom. You can stand on the plaza and read the glass the way the camera did: a tower that sells truth on a loop while the plot argues that truth is the hardest product in the building. SBS Prism Tower sits next door. The whole street is a media campus. The drama needed that density.

Look up from the sidewalk, then walk to Digital Media City Station. The pilgrimage here is not a set visit. It is the knowledge that the building still files stories after the credits.
