Record of Youth|Dongdaemun Design Plaza — After the Show the Bags Still Need Carrying

Episode 2 puts the industry on Zaha Hadid's aluminum skin and then refuses to let it stay glamorous. After a show, Hye-jun walks the plaza with Ahn Jeong-ha and offers to take her bags toward the bus. Dongdaemun Design Plaza is Seoul's official fashion landmark. In Record of Youth it is also the place where a working makeup artist and a mid-rank model remember they still have to get home.

The building opened in 2014 on the old Dongdaemun Stadium site. Curved panels catch the light. Exhibition halls sit under a walkable roof. Food trucks idle on the apron. The drama uses that contrast without apology: a runway that looks imported, a conversation that is about money, roles, and who got cast.

Walk the outdoor deck at late afternoon. The metal still looks like a future the city paid for. The pavement still leads to a bus stop. That is the scene. Youth here is not the show. It is the walk afterward, when the cameras inside have already stopped.
