The Doctors|Gachon University Gil Hospital — The Real Tower That Played Gukil

Gukil Hospital is a name the drama invented. The tower is not. Incheon newsrooms confirmed in July 2016 that SBS shot the hospital exteriors, the rooftop helipad, and the reunion under that invented sign at Gachon University Gil Hospital in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu.

The campus sits at 21 Namdong-daero 774beon-gil. Gil opened as a maternity clinic in 1958 and grew into a 1,200-bed tertiary hospital with Korea's first doctor helicopter. Production used the real neurosurgery staff as advisors. The roof pad that carries Hye-jung back into Ji-hong's working life is the pad the hospital still uses for trauma flights over the West Sea islands.

Viewers searched "where is Gukil" because the sign looked too large to be a set. It was large because it hung on a working building. You cannot tour the wards as a pilgrimage. You can stand on Namdong-daero and read the same mass of glass and concrete that the camera treated as the place where a delinquent became a surgeon.

Do not block an ambulance bay for a photograph. The drama borrowed a hospital that still runs on minutes. The respectful visit is the sidewalk and the facade, then you leave the entrance clear.
