30 Minutes or Less|Vito's Pizza, West Fulton Street — where the thirty-minute clock started

The joke that carries the whole film is that a delivery guarantee can be treated as a matter of honour. Nick takes a pizza out of the warmer, checks the clock, and drives like the thirty minutes are a debt he owes personally. The shop he runs out of is not a set. Vito's Pizza sits at 658 Fulton Street West, a low storefront on the stretch of road that carries you out of downtown Grand Rapids and into the West Side, the kind of place with a counter, a phone that still rings, and ovens going all afternoon.

The production spent four months in Grand Rapids in the summer and autumn of 2010, and this address was its anchor. The Michigan Film Office lists the shop as Nick's workplace and notes that it kept a small exhibit of props from the shoot — the rare case of a location that decided to remember the film rather than quietly move on.

Go in hungry and at an odd hour, when the lunch rush has thinned. Order at the counter, then look up. The movie is on the wall, in a pizza place, in a city that had no reason to expect it.
