People look for a marked stone when a chairman dies.

Haak was placed in a memorial grove that does not carry a headstone.

He died on 1 February 2008 on Lidingö, aged 82.

The Swedish biographical entry records both the date and the island.

The same page, citing FinnGraven, says he was buried in the minneslund at Lidingö kyrkogård.

The cemetery lies against Lidingö kyrka, the 1623 church on the rise above Kyrkviken.

Ashes are put in the ground without relatives present and without a personal marker.

No planting and no private stone are allowed on the grove itself.

A visitor who comes looking for Haak will find the church, the lime-tree rings of the old burial ground, and a grove that is deliberately unnamed.

That is the point of the form, not a gap in the record.

He had lived on the island for decades.

His wife, the physician Anna Kjellström, whom he married in 1956, died in 2020.
