Biography | Brian Krzanich — The May Morning Building SC-12 Made Him Intel's Sixth Chief Executive

On 2 May 2013 Intel's board said it had elected Brian M. Krzanich chief executive.

The title moved two weeks later.

It moved after the annual stockholders' meeting on Thursday, 16 May 2013, inside Building SC-12 at 3600 Juliette Lane in Santa Clara.

The meeting was called for 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time.

Stockholders could sit in this building or watch on the company site.

Paul S. Otellini stepped down as president, chief executive and director that morning.

Krzanich, then fifty-two and chief operating officer since January 2012, became the sixth person to hold the job.

The first five were Robert Noyce, Gordon Moore, Andrew Grove, Craig Barrett and Otellini.

He had been at Intel since 1982.

The 8-K filed the same day records that the board also seated him as a director, effective 17 May, and put him on the executive committee.

Renee James was elected president on the same timetable.

SC-12 is a six-storey building on the Santa Clara campus, a short walk from the Intel Museum on Mission College Boulevard.

It is a company building, not a civic hall.
