Biography|Joyce Msuya — The Girls School Under Mama Kamm in Moshi

Weruweru Girls Secondary School sits west of Moshi, in Hai District, at a documented point 3°18′41″S, 37°16′4″E.

The campus opened in September 1963 as Assumpta College and was inaugurated by Julius Nyerere on 22 October that year.

In 1970 the government took it over and the present name replaced the convent title.

Msuya has named this school, not a Dar es Salaam day school, as the secondary she attended.

The headmistress through her years was Maria Kamm, in office from 1970 to 1992, known in later Tanzanian press as Mama Kamm.

The Citizen and The EastAfrican both record that account.

Exact enrollment and leaving dates are not in a published register.

What is dated is the next move: in 1989 she left Tanzania on a science scholarship for Glasgow.

The Karemji Foundation scholarship that later profiles call a first for a Tanzanian woman is reported in The EastAfrican.

Treat that first as the paper's wording, not as an independently audited national claim.

The school is still a government girls' campus.

The buildings a visitor sees are later fabric on the same site Nyerere opened.

From here the road runs into Moshi and out toward Kilimanjaro International.
