[VOID] Biography | Ola Källenius — The Day He Took the Chair in Berlin

On 22 May 2019 about five thousand Daimler shareholders met in Halls 25 and 26 at Messe Berlin, entered from Gate 25 on Jaffestraße.

Dieter Zetsche laid down the chair at the end of the meeting. Ola Källenius, then forty-nine, accepted it as chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

The invitation named the place and the hour: 10:00, Messe Berlin, Jaffestraße 2, 14055 Berlin.

Shareholders also voted, by 99.75 percent of votes cast, to split cars and vans, and trucks and buses, into separate companies under the Daimler holding company. That vote is PROJECT FUTURE on the agenda paper.

He was the first non-German to hold both jobs. He later took German citizenship as well as Swedish.

The halls are still part of the Berlin trade-fair ground. The meeting that changed the nameplate on the Stuttgart boardroom happened here, not at Untertürkheim.
