The publisher-run Play! Pokémon competition brought qualified five-player teams from regional circuits into an in-person world final. Teams competed through group play on August 19 and a double-elimination bracket on August 20; BLVKHVND reached the deciding match from the winners’ side, while Europe’s Nouns advanced through the lower bracket. Pokémon UNITE is scored in points rather than knockouts: players defeat wild and opposing Pokémon to collect Aeos energy, then deposit that energy at opposing goal zones. Standard competitive games last ten minutes, and the five-player team with the higher point total when time expires wins the game; the final was a best-of-five match, so three game wins secured the title.

The championship used the global Pokémon UNITE client and its tournament mode, which the 2022 series allowed on Nintendo Switch, iOS, or Android. BLVKHVND won the grand final 3–0.
