Sweet Home|Gangchon Rail Park — The Old Line Where the Convoy Entered the Dark

Episode 9 of season one leaves the apartment. A military convoy is hit inside a railway tunnel on the abandoned Gyeongchun alignment west of Chuncheon. The tunnel you can still walk toward is part of the old Gangchon station approach, now folded into Gangchon Rail Park. The park starts beside Gimyujeong Station at 1383 Gimyujeong-ro, Sindong-myeon. Pedal bikes run the decommissioned track. Themed tunnels throw disco light and recorded music at tourists who came for a river view.

The drama used the raw version of that hole in the hill. Concrete, ballast, a cut that the new Gyeongchun Line no longer needs. VisitKorea lists the rail park as a public course: six kilometres of bike, then a short ride on the so-called Romantic Train to the old Gangchon station site. You buy a ticket. You do not need a location manager.

Stand at the Gimyujeong end before the first tunnel swallows the rails. The Bukhangang is on your left. The mountain is on your right. The series needed a place where a column of trucks could vanish and come out changed. The park now sells that vanishing as recreation. The cut in the hill is the same cut.
