14才の母 (2006) | Fureai Bridge — Miki and Satoshi Fall into the Asakawa

Manganji Pedestrian Bridge, better known locally as ふれあい橋 (Fureai Bridge), crosses the Asakawa in Hino and is one of the clearest surviving locations from the opening chapter of『14才の母』. The drama’s filming-location record identifies it as the bridge where Ichinose Miki and Kirino Satoshi fall into the river in episode 1, broadcast October 11, 2006.

Hino’s own tourism/film-support material also links the bridge to the production: a contemporary local article reported seeing the drama shoot there in late September 2006, and the current Hino Film Commission still lists Manganji Pedestrian Bridge as a filming location.

Today it remains a public pedestrian crossing over the Asakawa. Its white tower and open river views make it easy to recognize, but it is also a functioning walking and cycling route, so visitors should keep the passage clear and avoid staging risky recreations near the water.
