The Home of a Diplomat (外交官の家) in Yokohama’s Yamate Italian Garden served as the real-world location for the home of Tsukioka Nao’s grandmother in NTV’s『たったひとつの恋』.

The drama’s location archive lists the historic house among its principal recurring locations rather than as a one-scene stop. That makes it an important counterpoint to the working-port settings associated with Hiroto: Nao’s family world is repeatedly framed through polished Motomachi and Yamate locations, and this preserved Western-style residence reinforces that social contrast.

The connection was recognized while the series was still airing. A December 4, 2006 Yokohama report on the official mobile filming-location stamp rally named “Yamate Italian Garden / Diplomat’s House” as one of five real『たったひとつの恋』location stops.

The building itself predates the drama by nearly a century. Designed by American architect J. M. Gardiner for diplomat Uchida Sadatsuchi, it was originally built in Tokyo in 1910 and later relocated to Yokohama. It is now an Important Cultural Property and is open to the public within Yamate Italian Garden at 16 Yamate-cho, subject to the facility’s current hours and closure days.
