Biography|Gosta Malm — The Stone Svante Nilsson Cut at Norra begravningsplatsen

The grave is not a state monument.

It is a carved stone in Solna, on the northern cemetery Stockholm has used since 1827.

Gösta Malm died on 11 January 1965 in Engelbrekt parish, aged ninety-one.

The sculptor named on the stone is Svante Nilsson.

The cemetery's own listing calls the plot sten nr 226.

Walk quietly. Do not photograph other mourners. Keep to posted hours.

Malm had already written himself down.

In 1963 he published the memoir I mina krafts dagar, two years before this ground took him.

Between the Olidan turbines and this plot he had been managing director of Skånska Cementgjuteriet from 1 August 1914 to June 1917, governor of Norrbotten, minister of trade and of social affairs without a party ticket, and director-general of Vattenfall from 1928 to 1938.

He chaired Skanska's board again from 1940 to 1953.

The career that started in Estuna parish ends on a listed cemetery path, not in a demolished office.

The stone is the afterlife the family chose.
