Biography | Olivier Chansou — Four Services and 1,100 Agents on the Beaudésert Campus

People treat a regional air-navigation job as one radar room.

From 2012 to 2017 Chansou ran four DSNA Sud-Ouest services at once.

The cluster sat on the Beaudésert campus in Mérignac: CESNAC, the Service de l'information aéronautique, SNA/SO, and the CRNA Sud-Ouest he had already commanded from 2006 to 2009.

The school's 2017 notice, repeated by Ouest-France, put the headcount at about 1,100 agents.

CESNAC is the national centre that keeps flight-data systems and the technical networks up around the clock.

It is not a local tower.

The Service de l'information aéronautique writes and issues the aeronautical information that crews and software actually fly.

SNA/SO is the regional operations arm.

The CRNA is the en-route room for the southwest.

One director, four plaques, same grounds.

He arrived from three years as sous-directeur des personnels at 50 rue Henry-Farman in Paris.

That Farman stretch sat between two Bordeaux commands.

He was in his late forties when the 2012 job began.

Born in 1965, he finished the five-year run at fifty-two, the age printed when the ENAC decree named him.

The campus address in the public directory remains avenue de Beaudésert, 33700 Mérignac.

OpenStreetMap records the CESNAC office on rue Eugène Chassaing inside that compound.

This stretch is the last DGAC line command before the 27 November 2017 decree sent him back to Toulouse as director of ENAC.

No words of his are quoted here.

The numbers and the four service names are the public record.
