Honda did not wait for the shareholders' meeting to name the next chief.
On 23 February 2015 the company issued the change from this Aoyama building.
Takahiro Hachigo, then a managing officer, would become senior managing officer on 1 April.
He would become president, chief executive and representative director in late June.
He would succeed Takanobu Ito.
The same day's TSE filing printed the birth date, 19 May 1959, and the career list that made the promotion legible.
April 1982: joined Honda.
April 2004 to March 2006: senior vice president, Honda R&D Americas, in the United States.
April 2011: general manager of Suzuka Factory.
April 2012: vice president and director, Honda Motor Europe.
September 2012: president of Honda R&D Europe (U.K.).
April 2013: development, purchasing and production for China.
The Aoyama building at 2-1-1 Minami-Aoyama had been the Tokyo head office since 1985.
Honda Welcome Plaza occupied the ground floor.
The announcement was a Tokyo paper, not a factory-gate speech.
On 6 July 2015, after he took the chair, Honda published a summary of his first chief-executive address.
He set two themes: a six-region operating structure, and products that only Honda would attempt.
He is a living executive.

Honda said in August 2025 that the Aoyama site would be partly sold and that the global office would move toward Yaesu by the end of 2029.
In 2015 the decision still had this address on the letterhead.
