Esports | Mobile Legends: Bang Bang | ECHO — The 4-0 M4 Final at Tennis Indoor Senayan

On January 15, 2023, ECHO Philippines and defending champion Blacklist International met inside Tennis Indoor Senayan in Jakarta for the Grand Final of the M4 World Championship. MOONTON Games ran the publisher-sanctioned event, and its official account scheduled this best-of-seven final for 5:30 p.m. Western Indonesian Time.

ECHO reached the final through the lower bracket after Blacklist had beaten it 3–2 two days earlier. The rematch put ECHO’s Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno in the jungle, Sanford “SanFord” Vinuya in the EXP lane, Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales in the gold lane, Alston “Sanji” Pabico in mid, and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera at roam; Blacklist started Wise, Edward, OHEB, Hadji, and OhMyV33Nus in the corresponding roles.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a mobile five-versus-five multiplayer online battle arena. Each side drafts five heroes, gathers gold and experience across three lanes and a jungle, and tries to destroy the opposing base; in this final, each destroyed base counted as one game and four game wins secured the series.

The competition used the global Mobile Legends: Bang Bang production client in the Patch 1.7.44 release window, whose Android build 1.7.44.8111 launched the M4 event content on December 20, 2022. Public event records do not identify a single mandated handset model, so the memory does not infer one from regional smartphone sponsorships.

ECHO won the first two games in under fifteen minutes. In Game 2, Bennyqt’s Brody ended the game by attacking Blacklist’s exposed base while attention was elsewhere; ECHO then took Game 3 in 13 minutes 53 seconds, reaching championship point after keeping Blacklist’s signature support hero Estes out of the draft.

The fourth base fell to complete a 4–0 sweep. Bennyqt received the Finals MVP award, ECHO won its first M-series world title, and KarlTzy became the first player to win two M-series championships, after his M2 title with Bren Esports.
