J-Drama Pilgrimage | 半沢直樹 Hanzawa Naoki (2013) — 三井本館 / Tokyo Chuo Bank Headquarters
kevin
TBS’s 2013 『半沢直樹』 uses 三井本館 (Mitsui Main Building) in Nihonbashi as the exterior of the fictional 東京中央銀行本店 / Tokyo Chuo Bank headquarters, one of the series’ defining recurring locations. The Nationwide Filming Location Guide identifies Mitsui Main Building directly for the bank headquarters and notes that the high-rise portion seen in the drama was composited rather than part of the historic structure. The series premiered on July 7, 2013, so this memory uses the premiere date as the start of the building’s recurring on-screen role.
The real building stands at 2-1-1 Nihonbashi-Muromachi, Chuo-ku. Mitsui Fudosan’s current property page confirms that the 1929 building remains in use, while its historical materials record that Mitsui Main Building was designated an Important Cultural Property in 1998. It is still a working office and banking property, so a pilgrimage should be approached from normal public streets and publicly accessible areas rather than by treating offices or banking spaces as sightseeing interiors.
The pin 35.6863, 139.7732 is a building-level coordinate for Mitsui Main Building. It does not claim Hanzawa’s exact entrance, an actor position, an office floor, or a camera mark. For fans, the value of this stop is the instantly recognizable classical stone exterior that visually anchors Tokyo Chuo Bank throughout the 2013 drama.
