Episode 5, broadcast 12 February 2016, takes Kyoko, Tomohiko, Miwa and the cottage group outside their usual world as Miwa follows a lead to someone who might be her “root.” TBS’s official synopsis then has Tomohiko suggest visiting the nearby coast they knew as のぞみが崎 / Nozomigasaki. The Nationwide Filming Location Guide identifies ひたちなか海浜鉄道 那珂湊駅 / Hitachinaka Seaside Railway Nakaminato Station as the station where Kyoko and Tomohiko board a train during this Episode-5 journey.

The real Nakaminato Station remains the operational center of the Minato Line. Hitachinaka Seaside Railway says the station retains its wooden station building dating from the line’s 1913 opening, has two platforms (one island and one side platform) serving three tracks, and continues to operate as a staffed station with ticket-window services. It is also promoted by the railway as a sightseeing stop and has long been used for film, drama and commercial shoots.
