J-Drama Pilgrimage | ウロボロス Ouroboros (2015) — 明神湯 / Myojin-yu

Episode 2 of 『ウロボロス～この愛こそ、正義。』 aired on January 23, 2015. As Ikuo and Tatsuya pursue the same case from opposite sides of the law, the filming-location record places one of their private conversations inside Myojin-yu, the traditional sento in Minamiyukigaya, Ota City. The bathhouse setting suits the series’ recurring pattern of giving the two men concealed spaces where they can briefly speak as partners rather than as detective and yakuza.

Myojin-yu remains an operating public bath at 5-14-7 Minamiyukigaya. Ota City’s tourism association describes its traditional miyazukuri-style exterior, old-fashioned bandai reception and high coffered changing-room ceiling, while the Tokyo Sento Association continues to list its opening hours and facilities.
