Secret Garden | Lotte Cheongnyangni — The Aisle Where the Chairman Walked In

The station doors open under the department store. Shoppers come up into a marble lobby that still behaves like a privately funded station first and a mall second.

In Secret Garden this was Loel. Kim Joo-won owned it. Staff lined the floors when the chairman arrived. Ra-im, in a body that did not belong to her, walked the same corridors as if the clothes and the lighting might expose the swap. The fourth-floor restaurant where he fed the action-school crew was a real floor here, not a set built for the camera.

Lotte Department Store Cheongnyangni still sits on Wangsan-ro, plugged into Cheongnyangni Station on Line 1. The store has worn other names since 1969. The 2010 drama used the living floors, not a demolished wing. You can still ride the escalators the extras used and look down the same long sightlines.

Stand at the station entrance and watch the crowd arrive. That is the ordinary machine the series turned into a throne room.
