Presidencies are often judged by how they begin, but Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s final public test was whether power could leave her hands without violence.

On 22 January 2018, she attended George Weah’s inauguration at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex outside central Monrovia.

The official inaugural transcript names Sirleaf among the leaders present and identifies the stadium as the place where the ceremony was held.
