Biography|Jean-Philippe Imparato — The December He Walked Into PSA on the Grande Armee

People date his PSA life from the Peugeot brand chair in 2016.

The company date is earlier and quieter.

French notices and the later Stellantis curriculum both put him into Groupe PSA in December 1990, at twenty-four, after military service.

A few secondary sketches say 1989 or 1991. The December 1990 line is the one the company has kept on his official biography.

The group seat then was this block at 75 avenue de la Grande-Armée, the old Peugeot building between the Étoile and Porte Maillot.

He did not walk in as a brand chief.

The first jobs were field sales: a sector post in the Peugeot regional direction at Dijon, then Citroën regional work that took him to Toulouse until 1995.

The official later summary calls that first decade Field Sales Management on French battlegrounds, alternating the two sister brands.

Mercosur for Citroën came in early 1998. Central audit work followed in 2000. Wuhan and the Dongfeng joint venture took him in 2003.

In 2012 the group sold the Grande-Armée complex to a vehicle of Ivanhoé Cambridge for 245.5 million euros and leased it back on a nine-year term.

The façade the visitor sees now is the redeveloped block, not the 1990 offices as they stood.

The insight is the length of the apprenticeship. Twenty-six years inside one group separated the December hire from the September in which the same address put him over the lion.

A career that looks like a sequence of brand titles was, for most of its years, regional sales, supplier quality, and a retail network.
