People treat Kraft Heinz as a Pittsburgh and Chicago packaged-food house that always printed KHC after a finished Nasdaq book.
The 2015 issuer was The Kraft Heinz Company, formed when H.J. Heinz Holding Corporation completed its merger with Kraft Foods Group, Inc. on 2 July 2015.
Kraft Foods Group common stock, which had printed KRFT on Nasdaq after the 2012 split from Mondelez, ceased trading at the close on 2 July 2015.
The company's Form 8-K and its own press release stated that Kraft Heinz common shares would begin trading on Nasdaq under KHC on 6 July 2015.
Each Kraft common share converted into one Kraft Heinz common share, plus a special cash dividend of 16.50 U.S. dollars a share declared 22 June 2015.
Berkshire Hathaway and 3G Capital, which had taken Heinz private in 2013, held a controlling interest in the combined company after the closing.
The letters KHC still open on the Nasdaq Global Select Market.
The mechanism is a 2015 merger listing that retired KRFT and opened a single food book rather than a cash initial public offering.
The pin is the public Times Square facade of Nasdaq MarketSite, the present street marker for the tape that prints KHC.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
