Finance History | Nasdaq MarketSite — A Columbus Bank Prints an HBAN Tape
kevin
People treat Huntington as a Columbus bank that always printed HBAN after a finished honeycomb book.
The March 1980 issuer was Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, holding company for The Huntington National Bank.
The bank itself opened in Columbus in January 1866 as P. W. Huntington and Company.
The holding-company common opened on Nasdaq on 17 March 1980 under the letters HBAN.
Those letters have stayed on that market.
The mechanism is a holding-company listing that put a nineteenth-century Ohio bank on an electronic tape.
Nasdaq MarketSite at 4 Times Square is the public facade for that tape.
Interior studios are not a visitor floor.
