People treat Fortive as an Everett industrial that always printed FTV after a finished instrument book.
The July 2016 issuer was Fortive Corporation, separated from Danaher Corporation.
Danaher stockholders of record on 15 June 2016 received one Fortive common share for every two Danaher common shares.
The distribution completed on Saturday 2 July 2016.
About 345 million Fortive shares were credited.
Regular-way trading opened on the New York Stock Exchange on 5 July 2016 under the letters FTV.
The first session closed at 48.60 dollars a share in 2016 currency.
No cash was raised.
The mechanism is a tax-free spin that retired one industrial book inside Danaher and listed a second shell.
The letters were new.
The New York book did start over.
The pin is the Broad Street facade of the Exchange on the morning the FTV ticker opened.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
