Biography | Herbert Hainer — The Diplom He Finished at Fachhochschule Landshut

People treat a Dax chief executive as a product of a famous business school.

Hainer's credential is a Fachhochschule diploma from Landshut.

He completed a Diplom-Betriebswirt (FH) in business administration at Fachhochschule Landshut in 1979.

The school itself had opened only the year before, in 1978, as a new Bavarian university of applied sciences. The campus the visitor finds now at Am Lurzenhof 1 is later fabric on the same site.

FC Bayern's official biography and the Hochschule's own alumni list both record the degree and the year.

German profiles add the path that preceded it. After Realschule he completed an apprenticeship, then took the Hochschulreife by the second-chance route before the Landshut course.

He did not wait for a corporate offer to practice commerce. While studying he ran a small pub in Dingolfing, the Gussofen, with a friend, converting it toward an English-pub style that then still counted as a novelty in Lower Bavaria.

Manager Magazin and the club biography both mention that room. The building later became housing. This pin stays on the public campus.

In 1979 he left Landshut for Procter and Gamble in Germany, selling and marketing consumer goods for eight years.

The Landshut diploma is the hinge. Without it there is no P&G desk, and without that desk there is no 1987 application to Adidas.

The campus is ordinary applied-science architecture. That is the point. The later glass at Herzogenaurach was not the first school.
