Biography|Larry Fink — The Anderson Atrium That Carries the Fink Name

The present Anderson complex opened in 1995 at Sunset Boulevard and Westwood Plaza.

Fink's M.B.A. was conferred nineteen years earlier, when the school was still the Graduate School of Management in the Hilgard Avenue building now used by the Luskin School of Public Affairs.

In 2008 he and Lori Fink endowed the school's finance center.

UCLA Anderson's own page dates the gift to 2008 and records that the center was renamed the Laurence D. and Lori W. Fink Center for Finance and Investments.

He chairs its board.

The atrium in Marion Anderson Hall is the public room of that later campus.

A visitor who comes for the name will find a working school, not a shrine.

The gift sits inside a simple loop.

A political-science undergraduate wandered into real-estate electives.

An M.B.A. sent him to First Boston.

The firm that followed now funds the classroom that trains the next desk.

Anderson lists him as B.A. 1974 and M.B.A. 1976.

The center's stated job is to connect faculty research with market practice.

What you can verify on the ground is the building at 110 Westwood Plaza and the name on the door.
