On 6 July 2018 Marvell announced from Santa Clara that it had completed the acquisition of Cavium, Inc.
The deal had been agreed in November 2017 at about six billion dollars in cash and stock.
Cavium's own 8-K that day recorded the Delaware merger: each Cavium share became 2.1757 Marvell shares plus 40 dollars in cash.
Syed Ali, Brad Buss and Edward Frank joined Marvell's board the same morning.
Cavium had been a San Jose house for ARM and MIPS networking and security processors.
After the close it became a wholly owned subsidiary.
Marvell's press release framed the combination as a single infrastructure catalogue: storage, processing, networking, wireless and security.
Company filings and later investor letters treat this close as the scale event of Murphy's early tenure, two years after he arrived on Marvell Lane.
The pin is again 5488 Marvell Lane, because that is the address on the announcement.
It is a different morning from 11 July 2016.

The legal work that morning happened on paper in Delaware and in Santa Clara, not on a factory floor.
