On 20 June 2016 Marvell Technology Group Ltd. announced from Santa Clara that Matthew J. Murphy would become president, chief executive and a director on 11 July.
The Form 8-K filed that day gave his age as 43 and set the start date in writing.
Reuters the same evening recorded the replacement of co-founders Sehat Sutardja and Weili Dai, who had left the posts in April after an audit-committee review of sales pressure and premature revenue booking.
The review, Reuters noted, had not found fraud.
The operating address then, and the address Marvell still lists, is 5488 Marvell Lane, Santa Clara, California 95054.
A later company letter to shareholders, in the fiscal 2026 proxy, put a number on the firm he inherited: about 2.2 billion dollars in annualized revenue and a mix still heavy with consumer businesses.
The same letter said he dropped the president title in July 2025 and had been chairman of the board since June 2023.
The pin is the campus on Marvell Lane, not a home and not a daily desk tour.
What happened here on 11 July 2016 is the public start of the job he still holds.
