Most Swedish rich lists treat Melker Schörling as a Stockholm financier.

The parish register starts here, in Götlunda, a farming village west of Arboga on the edge of Lake Hjälmaren.

He was born Melker Yngve Georg Schörling on 15 May 1947, in Götlunda parish, then Örebro County, now Arboga Municipality.

Swedish Wikipedia and later business obituaries agree on the date and the parish.

Wikidata's shorthand "Arboga Municipality" is the modern administrative box, not the farm.

He grew up in a lantbrukarfamilj — a farm household — where money was a standing worry for his father.

That detail is repeated in memorial profiles and in the family's own company history, which still calls him the farmer's son who became a company leader.

Taking over the Götlunda farm did not interest him.

He left for a technical gymnasium in Örebro, then for economics in Gothenburg.

The church in front of you is the sockenkyrka, rebuilt in baroque form in the 1740s on medieval footings.

It is the public building that still names the parish he was born into.

No published source gives a farmhouse number, and the house he grew up in is not a museum.
