People treat Apple as a Cupertino campus that later sat at the top of the S and P 500.
The first invoices listed this ranch house.
On 1 April 1976 Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne signed a two-page partnership that created Apple Computer Company.
Jobs and Wozniak each took 45 percent. Wayne took 10 percent.
The house number was then 11161 Crist Drive. Annexation into Los Altos later changed it to 2066.
Wozniak designed the Apple I around a MOS Technology 6502 microprocessor.
Paul Terrell of the Byte Shop in Mountain View ordered 50 assembled boards at 500 dollars each, paid on delivery.
Jobs borrowed about 15,000 dollars in 1976 to buy the parts.
The boards sold to customers at 666.66 dollars.
About 200 Apple I machines were built in total.
On 12 April 1976 Wayne had his name taken off the partnership. He received 800 dollars then and a further 1,500 dollars after the firm incorporated, 2,300 dollars in 1976 currency for the 10 percent.
Apple Computer, Inc. was incorporated in California on 3 January 1977.
The house is a Los Altos historic resource. It remains a private residence.
The public view is the sidewalk and the driveway. Stay off the porch.
The mechanism is a hobbyist board that a retailer wanted fully assembled, financed on a short parts loan, sold from a family garage.
The later listing still sits in the S and P 500 and the Nasdaq-100.
The rooms that built the first fifty boards are on Crist Drive.
