Drama: 日本テレビ『臨床犯罪学者 火村英生の推理』 / Rinsho Hanzai Gakusha Himura Hideo no Suiri / Criminologist Himura and Mystery Writer Arisugawa (2016), scoped to the original 10-episode terrestrial series broadcast 17 January–20 March 2016. This memory does not fold in the 2016 Hulu “another story” episodes or the separate 2019 revival.

Episode 2, broadcast 24 January 2016, includes Hideo Himura and Detective Nabeshima walking through 真盛辻子 / Shinsei-no-zushi beside 上七軒 / Kamishichiken. A detailed Kyoto filming-location record also identifies the nearby machiya quarter as the exterior setting for Himura’s long-term boarding house. That creates a deliberate screen-geography trick: the story places his lodging around Kitashirakawa near Ginkakuji, while the television exterior was filmed across town in Kamishichiken.

The Kyoto City Media Support Center independently lists Kamishichiken among the drama’s principal Kyoto filming areas, and its February 2016 production notice recruited extras for additional filming around Kamishichiken. The district therefore works as more than a one-shot backdrop: it is part of the series’ recurring visual Kyoto.

For pilgrimage, the stored pin is intentionally the public Kamishichiken Kaburenjo/district landmark, not the private machiya used as Himura’s house exterior. Kamishichiken remains a living hanamachi with residences, ochaya and working cultural venues. Stay on public streets, keep voices low, do not photograph into homes or follow geiko/maiko, and do not try to identify or enter the private filming house. The pin is a respectful neighborhood reference rather than an actor or camera mark.
