Episode 1 of TBS’s 2005『タイガー＆ドラゴン』, broadcast on 15 April 2005, uses Azuma Bridge over the Sumida River for Toraji Yamasaki’s secret rakugo practice. The national filming-location archive identifies 隅田川の吾妻橋 for this scene, giving the series an outdoor counterpoint to the formal yose stage nearby.

The scene is especially useful for a pilgrimage collection because it makes Toraji’s new obsession physical: he is not yet comfortably performing rakugo in public, so he rehearses away from the hall on a bridge in the neighborhood that the drama repeatedly treats as his cultural training ground.

Azuma Bridge remains a public river crossing between Asakusa and the Sumida side. Pilgrims can appreciate the river and Asakusa skyline from the pedestrian route, but should stay out of bicycle and walking flow and should not treat the roadway or bridge approaches as a place for staged reenactments.
