タイガー＆ドラゴン Tiger and Dragon (2005) | Kaminarimon — Megumi and Ginjiro at Asakusa’s Gate

Episode 1 of TBS’s 2005『タイガー＆ドラゴン』, broadcast on 15 April 2005, uses Kaminarimon for the moment when Megumi is working as a guide and encounters Ginjiro in front of the gate. The national filming-location archive places that scene specifically at 雷門 rather than simply labeling it “Asakusa.”

The same gate returns later in the regular series, including episode 4 and the finale, where the location archive again identifies the Kaminarimon forecourt. That repetition makes the gate a useful pilgrimage stop for understanding how the drama repeatedly re-establishes its Asakusa setting between rakugo, family, and yakuza storylines.

Kaminarimon remains the famous outer gate of Senso-ji and one of Tokyo’s busiest pedestrian landmarks. A visit requires no reconstruction of the scene: the strongest visual reference is the gate itself, but pilgrims should keep moving with foot traffic and avoid blocking worshippers, tour groups, or the roadway edge for photographs.

The stored coordinate is the mapped position of Kaminarimon itself. It is not claimed as the precise point where the actors stood, where a tour vehicle stopped, or where the production placed a camera in 2005.
