Biography | Ferran Reverter — Named CEO on 1 July at These Offices

On Thursday 1 July 2021 Ferran Reverter Planet became chief executive of FC Barcelona.

The club published the appointment that day. He replaced Òscar Grau, who had held the post through the Bartomeu resignation, the Tusquets caretaker board, and the first weeks of Joan Laporta's second presidency.

The offices sat on Avinguda d'Arístides Maillol, at the Camp Nou, with the vehicle gate at entrance 14. That is the public club address of the period, not a private house.

Reverter reported to the board and to Laporta. The club listed a degree in economics from Pompeu Fabra in 1994 and a management-development programme at IESE.

The selling point in the notice was the MediaMarktSaturn job he was leaving that Wednesday, 30 June.

He arrived with a club already carrying a debt that contemporary reporting put above a billion euros, much of it short-term, after the pandemic seasons.

The CEO post at Barcelona is an employed executive chair, created in 2001 under Joan Gaspart, not a presidential office. Reverter was the professional hire of a newly elected members' board.

He lasted seven months in the chair. The work of those months is a separate pin, in the Auditori 1899, where he presented the due diligence on 6 October 2021.

This pin is the appointment day itself, at the offices the club named as its own.
